Man’s purpose for existence
There is a reason for everything under the sun. Nothing has ever happened accidentally. And nothing will happen accidentally. Everything happen for a cause. The wisest man ever lived said in Ecclesiastes 3 verse 1,
“To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:”
The New International Version puts it this way, “There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under heaven:”
There was a reason for God stepping out for creation. Calling forth light is for a reason. Making the greater light rule the day and the lesser light rule the night is for a reason. Causing the water gathered together into one place and let the dry land appear was for a reason. The land brought forth living creature after its Kind and herds was all for a reason. The waters brought forth abundantly the moving creature that have life was for a reason. The reason behind the whole process of creation was made obvious in Genesis 1 verse 26,
“And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.”
The whole thought, reasoning and thinking about creation was man.
Without doubt man was the reason of everything created and made. Man was so relevant that God choose to make him have a taste of ruling over a kingdom. Man cannot operate on full dominion in the same kingdom with God. The heavens belong to God and never will He share His glory with any one. The whole thought, reasoning and thinking about creation was man.
“According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love:” (Ephesians 1 verse 4 KJV)
God would not have stepped out for creation if man was not in His mind. It was the existence of man in God’s mind that propelled the foundation of the earth. If man not in the picture, earth would not have come into the picture. It is wise to know that Adam was made the foundation of which others will come into place. That foundation attracted so much weight and responsibility for humanity. So much energy was deployed during creation.
God would not have stepped out for creation if man was not in His mind
God is not a waster and never will He be. God cannot waste time, energy and resources without a tangible reasons behind such. The existence of man means a lot and that is why God gave out the best for the arrival of man. All things created was at its best before the god of the earth could show up. Wow, that was great. What did you think?
“… that they may have dominion…” (Genesis 1 verse 26)
The essence of man was to exercise full dominion over the creatures. It was the responsibility of being in control and discharge authority that made man unique. The purpose of creation was man; the purpose of man is responsibility. Man had a responsibility that brought him into the scene. Of course without this very responsibility, man would not have showed up. Without responsibility, earth would have been a beautiful grave yard. Man did not create himself. Man is the foundation, but he needs a solid rock to rest on. If man is truely a foundation, it wouldn’t make no meaning if there is no solid rock on which it could rested on.
God is the solid rock of which man could stand to form a formidable foundation. God been the reality of everything, without Him there is no true foundation. Man as a foundation can’t hold things up and together, except he is fully resting on a solid rock.
Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity. ” (2Timothy 2:19 KJV)
