You are God’s treasure
Apparently you are God’s treasure. No one and no circumstance should steal that away from you. You are a treasure of God Almighty that is why you are a chosen generation. Even in diaspora, wherever you found yourself it should stick to your mind that you are not ordinary. It is something worth feeling great about, that the one that created the universe treasures you. God carries you in His heart. It simply means that God thinks about you and He wants you great.
Men may despise you based on the colour of your skin. You might be maltreated based on the passport. You might be underrated based on your nation of identification. You might be humiliated based on your continent. That is human actions towards their fellow being trying to feel greater than the other. It does not warrant taking one’s life because you are despised, maltreated, underrated, hated and humiliated.
Our validation is of God Almighty
“But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light.” (first Peter chapter two verse nine. KJV)
One of the greatest challenges to humanity is that we seek validation of our lives and living in the wrong perspective. We seek validation from fellow human as though they are the one who bargained our existence. We seek validation from people as though they are the true source of our lives. Don’t get me wrong, I truly understand and value the rule of relationship, but that does not make anyone the true source to another. Man can be a channel but God Almighty remains the true source to human supply. If this really makes sense to us, why do we seek the validation from those who did not contribute a hair to the hair on our head? Why do we seek validation from those who do not know our tomorrow from today? Our validation is from God Almighty.
Have a genuine relationship with God
In as much as developing genuine relationship with human is so necessary and vital, the ultimate relationship that should drive everyone is the relationship with the Maker. You should realise that God did not only create man as He created other living and non-living things. God played an exceptional rule with deep value and treasure to humanity when He chose to create man in His image after His likeness that we should reign on earth.
“And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creeping upon the earth.” (Gen 1:26 KJV)
God treasures us exceptionally
You can believe with me that God treasures us not because of our heights. God treasures us not because of our complexion. God treasures us not because of the family we are born into. God treasures us not because of our upbringings. God treasures us not because of our nation of identification. God treasures us not because of the continent we are in. God treasures us not because of how wealthy we are or how wealthy our parents are. God treasures us not because of the leadership of our respective dominations and nation. Of course, God treasures us not because of our respective denomination.
It will create a good sense for living right when we realise we are treasured by God even before the foundation of the earth and that is the reason He went ahead to make us in His image after His likeness.
“According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be bold and without blame before him in love.” (Ephesians chapter one verses four. KJV)
Conclusion
The secret to living right and living successfully as a diaspora is having a cordial relationship with God Almighty. If God has chosen us in Him before the foundation of the world, He also has what it takes to keep us till the end of our journey here on earth. He is the only one that knows the end from the beginning.
