Leadership in the act of influencing people in the right path through God’s way, stirring up the right character and mental attitude to a desired destination.
Leadership is two words: leader and ship
A leader is a person who understands the path, leads and directs God’s people in the right way to a specific destination.
When we talk about a leader we are actually talking about a person. A person and his personality defines an individual’s leadership skill. When we talk about the ship; we talk about the whole process one undergoes to develop oneself and lead others.
Looking at the definition of a leader we can draw out three cardinal words there: First is the path, second leads and third, directs.
You are a born leader
A leader is a person who knows and understands the path. You can only lead people through the path you know and understand.
A leader is a person who leads. Everyone is a born a leader. You are a born leader. The first person to lead is yourself. You get to first lead yourself in the right path to fulfilling destiny. Do not be deceived, until you lead yourself you can’t lead others. Until you lead yourself effectively, you can’t lead others effectively.
A leader always goes first while others follow. People tend to follow the one who knows and understands the process. No one will follow if you are not at the front to lead.
A leader is a person who directs. Everyone has the ability to direct but it is not everyone who directs right. Before you be a person who directs right, you must know the right path, direct people to the right path and direct them to their destination. You must understand the process and be conversant with the destination, if you must be an effective leader who can direct effectively.
Individual’s character in leading matters alot
If a leader is all about a person, that should tell us more about an individual. It is quite vital to look at the components that make up the person ability to lead. An individual’s character in leading others matter a lot. If leader is about a person, then we have to deeply examine the person, his life and leading capacity. You see, everyone is born a leader but not every one emerges a true leader.
“And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.” (Genesis 1:26 Kjv)
You can’t take away leadership from man
Man is a born leader. Man came into existence to exercise leadership upon everything created. You can’t take away leadership from man. Based on genesis chapter one verse twenty six, man must have the right character which is God’s own character if he must lead effectively.
Man must understand he is a born leader and acquire what it takes to be an effective leader for him to lead effectively. There is a standard to effective leadership. Man was to discharge his leadership effectively. Any thing less than effective leadership can never be an effective leadership.
Leadership is the whole process about an individual who understand the right path to a specific destination and is willing to take others in the process without compromise to their desire destination.
Conclusion:
Leadership is the process of leading people right by influencing them through God’s way. You must understand the process and destination if you must lead effectively.
