7 attribute to believe in your leadership
- Understand who you are:
You have to understand your personality if you must exercise the right kind of leadership. You must understand who you are. When you discover and understand who you are, you will know the kind of leadership that is befitting for you to exhibit. When we discover our place in God through Christ Jesus, we live to exhibit God’s kind of leadership which is our reasonable service to everyone who desires to exercise leadership.
26 – “And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.
27 – So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.
28 – And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.” (Genesis chapter 1 verses 26 to 28)
- Believe in yourself:
When you are able to discover who you are from God’s perspective, you have no other option than to believe in yourself. Discovering of one’s place in God’s perspective, is the confidence to believing in oneself. You get to believe in yourself if you aimed for your leadership to flow. If you don’t believe in yourself, no one will believe in you. Of course, anyone who does not believe in his or herself should not expect anyone to believe in his leadership. When people find out that a leader does not have confidence in his leadership, they will not be safe to follow.
“Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.” (John chapter 14 verses 1)
It is paramount you believe in God, also believe in Jesus Christ and also believe in yourself. When one believes in God, and believes in Jesus and fails to believes on himself, that can bring limitations.
“I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.” (Philippians chapter 4 verses 13)
- Believe you can lead yourself:
When you are able to discover who you are, and believe in yourself, you should be able to effective lead yourself. Effective leadership starts with leading oneself effective. You can take yourself on a walk for leadership. If you can diligently lead yourself, you can as well lead others. Do not be deceived, until you effectively lead yourself, people will find it difficult to follow your leadership. You see, you can’t take people where you have not been. You can effectively advise people to follow you to where you have not visited before. Leadership is all about being ahead of those you are leading.
“Be ye followers of me, even as I also am of Christ.” (1Corianthians chapter 11 verses 1)
- Believe in your ability:
When you are able to discover oneself, believe in yourself, and believe you can lead yourself, you should also believe in your ability. If you don’t believe, no one will believe in you and your leadership. It is horrible when one fails to believes his of her ability to lead. There is less to achieve by anyone who does not believe in his or her ability.
“And unto one he gave five talents, to another two, and to another one; to every man according to his several ability; and straightway took his journey.” (Mathew chapter 21 verses 15)
Anyone has the ability to lead and to lead right. It is in one believe to be able to deploy his or her leadership.
- Being focused:
After you must have discovered who you are and your place in God Almighty, you get to believe in yourself and your leadership and also believe in your ability to lead. In all this you have to be focused. This is one of the attributes God displayed when He stepped out for creation and He was able to transform an ugly situation to a beautiful scene. You have to show a high level of focus if you must make great impact with your leadership.
“Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.” (Hebrews chapter 12 verses 2)
“So let’s keep focused on that goal, those of us who want everything God has for us. If any of you have something else in mind, something less than total commitment, God will clear your blurred vision–you’ll see it yet!” (Philippians chapter 3 verses 15 MSB)
- Believe your decision:
Once you are in proper alignment with God, you have to believe your decision. The ability for people to make decisions have actually messed up the leadership of some persons. You can’t claim to be focused without knowing what you want at each point in time. Let nothing takes off your view on the direction to exhibit effective leadership.
13 – “Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before,
14 – I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.
15 – Let us therefore, as many as be perfect, be thus minded: and if in any thing ye be otherwise minded, God shall reveal even this unto you.” (Philippians chapter 3 verses 13 to 15)
- Believe in your action:
Take full responsibility of your action. Running away from taking full responsibility of your action is as old as the garden of Eden. Adam once tried to shy away from his action and was pointing an accusing finger at Eve but that did not go well with him. One of the attributes to believe in one’s leadership is that he or she will be eager to achieve his or her actions.
“But above all things, my brethren, swear not, neither by heaven, neither by the earth, neither by any other oath: but let your yea be yea; and your nay, nay; lest ye fall into condemnation.” (James chapter 5 verses 12)
