5 things that hinder one from being chosen

1. Lack of Knowledge:
“My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children.” (Hosea chapter 4 verses 6)
“Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.” (2Timothy chapter 2 verses 15)
Part of the benefits of quality training and mentorship is the impartation of Knowledge, Understanding, and Wisdom. Whenever people fail to pay the price for Knowledge, they automatically disqualify themselves from being used by the Lord because God never uses ignorance. He can accept you the way you were ab initio, but He will never use you the way you are if you are deficient in Knowledge.
16 – “All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:
17 – That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.” (2Timothy chapter 3 verses 16 to 17)

2. Lack of Consecration:
This involves giving oneself wholly to God’s Holy Purposes/Calling after having been separated from satan, sin, the world, and the old man.
19 – “Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, Let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity.
20 – But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and of silver, but also of wood and of earth; and some to honour, and some to dishonour.
21 – If a man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honour, sanctified, and meet for the master’s use, and prepared unto every good work.” (2Timothy chapter 2 verses 19 to 21)

3. Unfaithfulness in money:
We must be found Faithful in the little things that God commits into our hands.
10 – “He that is faithful in that which is least is faithful also in much: and he that is unjust in the least is unjust also in much.
11 – If therefore ye have not been faithful in the unrighteous mammon, who will commit to your trust the true riches?
12 – And if ye have not been faithful in that which is another man’s, who shall give you that which is your own?” (Luke chapter 16 verses 10 to12)

4. Lack of self discipline:
“I discipline my body like an athlete, training it to do what it should. Otherwise, I fear that after preaching to others I myself might be disqualified.”(1Corianthians chapter 9 verses 27 NLT)
Lack of self discipline has eluded many from been chosen. The kingdom does not run on the shoulders of those who lack discipline. The kingdom runs on the shoulders of those who understand discipline as one of the vital means to keep one in check and order for the kingdom purpose. He who lacks discipline in his life lacks the right bearing to success. There is no one who will amount to any enviable position in life who is not a person of responsibility.

5. Unfaithfulness to responsibility:
Your capacity must be tested to know if you are fit for the next level. Responsibility is the key for everyone to be able to prove him or herself for the course to fulfilling destiny. You can’t be chosen if you are not a person of responsibility. Anyone who does not understand faithfulness in responsibility will never turn out a faithful servant. Responsibility is a builder and an amplifier to be among the chosen.
24 – “Then he which had received the one talent came and said, Lord, I knew thee that thou art an hard man, reaping where thou hast not sown, and gathering where thou hast not strawed:
25 – And I was afraid, and went and hid thy talent in the earth: lo, there thou hast that is thine.
26 – His lord answered and said unto him, Thou wicked and slothful servant, thou knewest that I reap where I sowed not, and gather where I have not strawed:
27 – Thou oughtest therefore to have put my money to the exchangers, and then at my coming I should have received mine own with usury.
28 – Take therefore the talent from him, and give it unto him which hath ten talents.
29 – For unto every one that hath shall be given, and he shall have abundance: but from him that hath not shall be taken away even that which he hath.
30 – And cast ye the unprofitable servant into outer darkness: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.” (Mathew chapter 25 verses 24 to 30)

Conclusion:
“Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.” (2Timothy chapter 2 verses 15)
There is a price for the Divine Election or being chosen. When it comes to being chosen, it is us who determine whether we are going to be approved by God. This was one major reason Paul told Timothy to study to show himself approved unto God.
