5 attributes of a disciple
- A disciple loves his master till death.
15 – “And David longed, and said, Oh that one would give me drink of the water of the well of Bethlehem, which is by the gate!
16 – And the three mighty men brake through the host of the Philistines, and drew water out of the well of Bethlehem, that was by the gate, and took it, and brought it to David: nevertheless he would not drink thereof, but poured it out unto the LORD.
17 – And he said, Be it far from me, O LORD, that I should do this: is not this the blood of the men that went in jeopardy of their lives? therefore he would not drink it. These things did these three mighty men.” (2Samuel chapter 23 verses 15 to 17)
“Where is then the blessedness ye spake of? for I bear you record, that, if it had been possible, ye would have plucked out your own eyes, and have given them to me.” (Galatians chapter 4 verses 15)
A disciple defends his master at all cost.
- A disciple accepts the bible interpretation of his master and obeys the teachings and instruction of his master.
5 – There shall not any man be able to stand before thee all the days of thy life: as I was with Moses, so I will be with thee: I will not fail thee, nor forsake thee.
6 – Be strong and of a good courage: for unto this people shalt thou divide for an inheritance the land, which I sware unto their fathers to give them.
7 – Only be thou strong and very courageous, that thou mayest observe to do according to all the law, which Moses my servant commanded thee: turn not from it to the right hand or to the left, that thou mayest prosper whithersoever thou goest.
8 – This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.” (Joshua chapter 1 verses 5 to 8)

- A disciple constantly points others to his master.
“Be ye followers of me, even as I also am of Christ.” (1Corinthians chapter 11 verses 1)
- The mission of the disciple is the mission of his master.
21 – “Then said Jesus to them again, Peace be unto you: as my Father hath sent me, even so send I you.
22 – And when he had said this, he breathed on them, and saith unto them, Receive ye the Holy Ghost:” (John chapter 20 verses 21 to 22)
- The disciple constantly works to develop the character and attitude of his master.
“My little children, of whom I travail in birth again until Christ be formed in you,” (Galatians chapter 4 verses 19)
