4 purposes of the church transforming the nations
1. A Spiritual Healing Centre:
The Church serves as God’s Hospital for wounded souls, offering redemption, healing, and transformation for sinners. It is a Source of Hope and renewal for individuals, families, societies, and nations.
9 – “After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.
10 – Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.
11 – Give us this day our daily bread.
12 – And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.” (Mathew chapter 6 verses 9 to 12)
The Church continues Christ’s Work of mending broken spirits, restoring those who are lost or hurting and leading them to Eternal Life.
1 – “The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me; because the LORD hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound;
2 – To proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all that mourn;
3 – To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the LORD, that he might be glorified.” (Isaiah chapter 61 verses 1 to 3)
2. Ambassadors of Christ:
The Church, as the embodiment of Christ’s message, represents Christ on earth. Christian believers are commissioned to share the message of reconciliation, love, and salvation with the world.
“Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ’s stead, be ye reconciled to God.” (2Corinthians chapter 5 verses 20)
This mission includes being “Salt and Light” in the society, demonstrating Christ’s character in every sphere of life.
13 – “Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men.
14 – Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.
15 – Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house.
16 – Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.” (Mathew 5 chapter 13 to 16)
3. Agents of Spiritual Warfare:
The Church is equipped to fight against spiritual forces of evil in the world.
“For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.” (Ephesians chapter 6 verses 12)
She intercedes for the weak, for nations and counters the works of darkness through prayer, fasting, and the proclamation of God’s Word.
4 – “For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;)
5 – Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;” (2Corinthians chapter 10 verses 4 to 5)
4. Guardians of Truth and Moral Values:
The Church upholds the eternal truths of God’s Word.
“But if I tarry long, that thou mayest know how thou oughtest to behave thyself in the house of God, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and ground of the truth.” (1Timothy chapter 3 verses 15)
In a world where morality is constantly shifting, the Church remains a pillar of righteousness, teaching and exemplifying the principles of God’s Kingdom.
1 – “I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.
2 – And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.” (Romans 12 verses 1 to 2)
She resists ungodly systems by transforming hearts and minds through the gospel.
