The following are some guidelines to keep you on check and to infuse the attitude of accountability into your life.
- Commit yourself to be accountable to your personal convictions.
- Always put yourself on check through the Word of God and make it your final judge.
- Submit yourself to a group of tested, respected, credible, wise and mature people for advice, correction, rebuke and instruction.
- Selects friends who are committed to the high standards of the Word of God and give them the right to judge you by it.
The fear of God is the beginning of cultivating the right spirit of accountability.
Servants, obey in all things your masters according to the flesh: not with eye service, as men pleasers: but in singleness of heart, fearing God. And whatsoever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and both unto men. Knowing that of the Lord you shall receive the reward of the inheritance: for you serve the Lord Christ.
To fully manifest the hidden potential within you, you must embrace the attitude of accountability. Whatever responsibility that comes your way, be conscious you are accountable to that. Always remember your ultimate accountability is to God who knows and sees the thoughts and attitudes of your heart.
Accountability is not about feeling and emotion, is about the mandate.
it is wise to have an understanding that everybody is living to accomplish a responsibility which each individual will stand to account for. Accountability has nothing to do about the way you feel, it has no respect to your emotion. It’s about the mandate that brought our existence. What the servant with one talent said about his master may be true. He may be harsh and hardman. Who cares about all he knows and says about his master?
