3 enemies of a believer
3 – “For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh:
4 – For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;)
5 – Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;” (2Corinthians chapter 10 verses 3 to 5)
- Sin:
1 – “Behold, the LORD’S hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; neither his ear heavy, that it cannot hear:
2 – But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear.
3 – For your hands are defiled with blood, and your fingers with iniquity; your lips have spoken lies, your tongue hath muttered perverseness.
4 – None calleth for justice, nor any pleadeth for truth: they trust in vanity, and speak lies; they conceive mischief, and bring forth iniquity.” (Isaiah chapter 59 verses 1 to 4)
Sin is anything that is against your conscience and God. Anything anyone does and his or her conscience bleeds is a sin. One’s conscience is one’s human spirit. Anytime one commits sin, there is a brake in fellowship with God. Sin is a braker of man’s relationship with his Maker. Forgiveness is not made for the unbeliever, forgiveness is made for the believer.
- Satan:
“The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.” (John chapter 10 verses 10)
The scripture above made it obvious that man has an enemy and any enemy is in for evil and destruction. It is very important for any believer to walk with the consciousness that there is an enemy that does not want him or her to excel in life. The enemy is in to cause limitation to how far anyone can do and accomplish in regard to destiny fulfillment. The enemy of the human race is the devil. He is the father of all liars. The devil never meant good for anyone because he is full of evil.
The thief which is satan is always parading around with the intention to who to steal, so that he can kill and as well as destroy such person. You can’t afford to live your life as a believer as though you don’t have an enemy. Satan is never in a hurry about anyone case. That is why Jesus called him the thief. Satan is never called a thief but the thief! This describes satan as an entity everyone should avoid by every means. Dr David Ogbueli said, “If you give satan an attention, he will give you direction.” It is very necessary never to give satan an attention.
“Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:” (1Peter chapter 5 verses 8)
- Self:
23 – “And he said to them all, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me.
24 – For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: but whosoever will lose his life for my sake, the same shall save it.” (Luke chapter 9 verses 23 to 24)
If anyone wants to amount to anything great in life, he or she must deal with self. It takes dead to self for one to pick up his or her cross and follow Christ. It takes dead to self for one to forgive and let go the past. It takes dead to self for one to develop a genuine relationship and walk effectively with God. Self is an agent of hindrances to a beautiful success and future.
“I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.” (Galatians chapter 2 verses 20)
“Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:” (Philippians chapter 2 verses 5)
Self can limit how far one can go in life and fulfilling destiny. The reason most people don’t enjoy God’s blessings is because self is still on the throne. Of course two captains can’t be in a ship. Self cannot be on the throne and one still expect the Supernatural to flow through him or her. God must be on the throne in anyone life if God must reveal His glory through such person.
“He that is slow to anger is better than the mighty; and he that ruleth his spirit than he that taketh a city.” (Proverbs chapter 16 verses 32)
Meekness is not weakness, it is power under control. Your christianity has to cost you if it must profit you. Living to please Jesus is the key.
Conclusion:
14 – “For the love of Christ constraineth us; because we thus judge, that if one died for all, then were all dead:
15 – And that he died for all, that they which live should not henceforth live unto themselves, but unto him which died for them, and rose again.” (2Corinthians chapter 5 verses 14 to 15)
The power of the devil is not his strongest weapon. Satan strongest weapon is deception. For you to deal with every deceptions of the devil, you must huck up to God. Angels are spiritual being with physical impact. When you know your enemies, you will know to stop them.
