3 Ds of sonship
Sonship is about becoming like Jesus. The major purpose of sonship is to mature into the fullness of Christ to glorify God and to give God pleasure. God is the source of man. We are created in His image after His likeness to be a true representative of Him and to reveal His glory. Sonship is also about being a vessel that will reflect God’s glory.
8 – “Thou hast put all things in subjection under his feet. For in that he put all in subjection under him, he left nothing that is not put under him. But now we see not yet all things put under him.
9 – But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honour; that he by the grace of God should taste death for every man.
10 – For it became him, for whom are all things, and by whom are all things, in bringing many sons unto glory, to make the captain of their salvation perfect through sufferings.
11 – For both he that sanctifieth and they who are sanctified are all of one: for which cause he is not ashamed to call them brethren,” (Hebrews chapter 2 verses 8 to 10)
Growing into sonship is growing into a vessel of honour.
God is in a mission to bring man to glory. Before you attain glory, you must grow into sonship. The price of sonship is the price to glory. For anyone who desire to be a carrier of God’s glory, must desire to grow into sonship. Growing into sonship is growing into a vessel of honour.
19 – “Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, Let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity.
20 – But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and of silver, but also of wood and of earth; and some to honour, and some to dishonour.
21 – If a man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honour, sanctified, and meet for the master’s use, and prepared unto every good work.” (2Timothy chapter 2 verses 19 to 21)
Children are born but son’s are given.
Sonship is a process. The process of sonship will cost you if it will profit you. The motto of sonship is no pain, no gain. Sonship will pain before it gives you gain. You must adhere to the fact that sons are produced and they are given. Children are born but son’s are given.
“For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.” (Isaiah chapter 9 verses 6)
3 Ds of Sonship
D¹. The first D of sonship is deliverance:
That is salvation where redemption occurs. At the point Jesus paid the price. This is bringing people out of Egypt.
8 – For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
9 – not of works, lest anyone should boast.
10 – For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.” (Ephesians chapter 2 verses 8 to 10)
D². The second D of sonship is development:
Deliverance phase must occur before the development phase can take its full place. This is where mental change and mental transformation occurs. God wants us to start thinking the way He think.
1 – I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.
2 – And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.” (Romans chapter 12 verses 1 to 2)
In this stage of D², spiritual transformation occurs here. This is about changing the man and changing in character. Once God sees a man with a mental change and spiritual transformation, He puts His glory on the person.
D³. The third D of sonship is deployment. You are saved to save others. You have a place in God’s vineyard. You have a vineyard to cultivate.
21 – Then said Jesus to them again, Peace be unto you: as my Father hath sent me, even so send I you.”
22 – And when he had said this, he breathed on them, and saith unto them, Receive ye the Holy Ghost:” (John chapter 20 verses 21 to 22)
Conclusion:
“For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.” (Romans chapter 1 verses 16)
There is a work for you to do in the kingdom. Don’t be idle.
